The Fundamentals of Nursing Department provides foundational training for nursing students, equipping them with the essential skills required to deliver safe and effective patient care. Students learn the basics of nursing procedures and patient care techniques, gaining hands-on experience before moving to clinical environments.

Objectives
- To prepare students with basic nursing skills, including health assessments, hygiene procedures, and medication administration.

Post Graduate program
The Post Graduate program in Nursing is designed to build upon and enhance the skills and knowledge acquired at the undergraduate level, focusing on the application of theoretical concepts to nursing practice, education, administration, and research. This advanced program prepares nurses to assume leadership roles across diverse settings, enabling them to serve as nurse specialists, consultants, educators, administrators, and researchers. The program addresses national health priorities and adapts to the evolving needs of society, laying the groundwork for further academic advancement in nursing at the post-master’s level. It also fosters accountability, lifelong learning, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care.
Lab Facilities
The Fundamentals of Nursing lab spans 2,500 sq. ft. and includes 8 practice dummies, ten beds, hand-washing facilities, and all necessary equipment. It provides a simulated hospital environment where students can practice nursing procedures under supervision.
Academic Hours and Evaluation
- Theory: 275 hours (B.Sc.), 210 hours (GNM)
- Practical: 250 lab hours + 550 clinical hours (B.Sc.)

In the field of Medical-Surgical Nursing, postgraduates acquire specialized skills, including:
