Admission Procedure

  • The admission process at Sree Mookambika College of Nursing is designed to ensure that candidates meet the necessary academic and personal qualifications required for nursing education. The procedure is as follows:.
     

Goal

  • Step 1

    Obtain and complete the admission application form, either from the college office or through the official website.

    Step 2

    Submit the completed application form along with the required documents by the specified deadline.

    Step 3

    Attend the entrance examination (if applicable) as scheduled by the college.

    Step 4

    Participate in a personal interview, which is required to assess the candidate’s aptitude and interest in nursing.

    Step 5

    Admission offers are made based on the performance in the entrance exam (if applicable), academic merit, and interview.

    Step 6

    Selected candidates are required to pay the initial admission fee to secure th ir place in the course.

    Step 7

    Complete the medical examination and submit the fitness certificate.

Eligibility Criteria

  • B.Sc Nursing

    • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects.
    • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (40% for SC/ST candidates).
    • Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the admission year.

    Post Basic B.Sc Nursing

    • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
    • Registration: The candidate should be a registered nurse (RN/RM) with the State Nursing Registration Council.
    • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for admission to Post Basic B.Sc Nursing.

    M.Sc Nursing

    • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
    • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 55% in aggregate in B.Sc Nursing (50% for SC/ST candidates).
    • Work Experience: A minimum of one year of experience after B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing in a hospital or community setting.
    • Registration: The candidate should be registered as a nurse and midwife (RN/RM) with the State Nursing Registration Council.

    General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

    • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed 10+2 with any stream (preferably Science) and English as a subject.
    • Minimum Marks: At least 40% in aggregate (35% for SC/ST candidates).
    • Age Limit: The candidate must be between 17 and 35 years of age.

    Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM)

    • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed 10+2 in any stream.
    • Minimum Marks: No specific minimum percentage, but science background is preferred.
    • Age Limit: The candidate must be between 17 and 35 years of age.

    Documents Required

    Applicants must submit original and photocopies of the following documents along with the application form:

    General Documents for All Programs

    1. Application Form: Completed and signed by the applicant.
    2. Recent Passport-Sized Photographs: Usually 8 copies for the application process, ID cards, and administrative records.
    3. Identity Proof: Aadhar Card, Passport, or any other government-issued ID.

    Educational Documents

    1. Mark Sheets:
      • 10th and 12th-grade mark sheets for B.Sc Nursing, GNM, and ANM applicants.
      • Mark sheets and certificates of GNM for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing.
      • B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing mark sheets and certificates for M.Sc Nursing.
    2. Passing Certificates:
      • High school and intermediate certificates for all programs.
      • Degree or diploma certificate for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing.
    3. Transfer Certificate (TC): Issued by the last attended institution.
    4. Migration Certificate: Required for students who have completed previous education in a different state or board.
    5. Conduct Certificate: From the previous institution.

    Medical Documents

    1. Medical Fitness Certificate: Signed by a certified medical officer, verifying the candidate’s physical and mental fitness for the course.
    2. Vaccination Records: Proof of vaccinations such as Hepatitis B, MMR, and other recommended vaccinations as per college guidelines.

    Professional Documents (for Post Basic B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing)

    1. Nursing Registration Certificate: Proof of registration with the State Nursing Council.
    2. Work Experience Certificate: For M.Sc Nursing, a certificate verifying one year of work experience post B.Sc Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing.

    Additional Documents (if applicable)

    1. Caste Certificate: Required for SC/ST/OBC candidates seeking reservation.
    2. Income Certificate: For students applying for fee concessions or scholarships.
    3. Domicile Certificate: As proof of residence if required by the institution.

    Additional Information
