Hospital Walls

From its earliest days as Velayudhan Nair Memorial Hospital, the leadership of Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences has been deeply committed to serving the community — guided by compassion and social responsibility across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Our outreach efforts extend beyond healthcare delivery, focusing on community empowerment, preventive health, financial accessibility and humanitarian service.

1990

Flood Relief Efforts

Provided food, utensils, clothing and medical treatment to communities affected by the devastating early-1990s floods.

1991

Women Empowerment through FPAI

Through the Family Planning Association of India (FPAI), created employment opportunities for housewives in the district — promoting financial independence and community health awareness.

2004

Tsunami Relief

Conducted relief camps at 10 locations across Kanyakumari District, providing medical care, food and essential supplies to survivors.

2018-19

Kerala & Chennai Flood Relief

Extended ₹10 lakh financial assistance, medicines worth ₹5 lakh, plus clothes, oxygen cylinders and relief materials.

2021

COVID Vaccination Promotion

Sponsored 10 gold coins to the Government of Tamil Nadu to promote COVID-19 vaccination awareness and participation.

2024

Tuticorin Flood Relief

SMIMS teams delivered food, utensils, clothing and medical care to families affected by the Tuticorin floods.
