INFRASTRUCTURE

The department plays a vital role in medical education and in providing diagnostic services for the benefit of patients and the community.

It is fully equipped as per NMC norms, including faculty rooms, departmental office, library, lecture hall, practical laboratory, demonstration hall, museum, stores, and a postgraduate research laboratory. All areas are supported with modern audiovisual systems and laboratory equipment.

The Central Research Laboratory is attached to the college and provides round-the-clock diagnostic support. It is equipped with advanced systems such as an automated blood culture system, VITEK automated culture system, automated analyzers, chemiluminescence analyzers, and PCR equipment.

The department regularly conducts Continuing Medical Education programs. Faculty members participate as guest speakers in interdisciplinary CME sessions and organize orientation programs for CMRI to enhance awareness of laboratory services.

The department actively participates in antibiotic policy formulation to promote the rational use of antimicrobials.

It also plays an important role in biomedical waste management to ensure safe handling, segregation, and disposal in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
