About the Dean
Dr. Guruprasad Kalthur is an internationally renowned biomedical scientist and academic leader serving as the Dean of Research & Innovation at the Sree Mookambika Centre for Research & Innovation (SMCRI). With over 20 years of distinguished experience in biomedical research, higher education, and scientific leadership, he has held prestigious positions including Professor & Head at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Visiting Scientist & Collaborator at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA.
Holding a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and an M.Sc. in Medical Biochemistry from Manipal University, Dr. Kalthur is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions to reproductive biology, fertility preservation, cancer biology, stem cell research, and translational medicine. He has successfully led numerous externally funded research projects supported by premier agencies including ICMR, DBT, DST, and SERB, authored 250+ peer-reviewed publications, and received several prestigious national and international honours. Through his visionary leadership, he continues to strengthen a vibrant culture of research, innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and scientific excellence at Sree Mookambika Institutions.
