Overview

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences (est. 2006) integrates clinical excellence, academic rigor, and research innovation. It provides comprehensive women’s health services, including high-risk pregnancy care, infertility management, menopause care, urogynecology, and gynaecological cancer management, with expertise in minimally invasive surgeries. Specialty clinics in urogynecology, oncology, high-risk obstetrics, and ultrasound ensure focused, protocol-based care. The department leads community outreach programs such as anaemia prevention, adolescent health, pulse polio, and Save the Girl Child. Its growing research identity in molecular and genomic science focuses on infertility, preeclampsia, cancers, and pelvic floor disorders. Dedicated to becoming a Centre of Excellence in Women’s Health, it trains future specialists while advancing evidence-based, innovative care.
