INFRASTRUCTURE
Committed to excellence in patient care, education, and research. The department is actively involved in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training. Faculty members also contribute to the education of Dental, Nursing, and Paramedical students. The department provides accurate and timely diagnostic services to all clinical departments.
The Transfusion Medicine Unit operates 24×7 to support both emergency and routine clinical needs. It provides multiple blood components as required and ensures continuous and reliable support for patient care. The department is equipped to perform a wide range of immunohistochemical markers, enabling precise and confirmatory diagnoses. Postgraduate students actively participate in routine diagnostic services, undertake independent research projects, and regularly publish in indexed journals, thereby promoting a strong academic and research culture.
The Histopathology Laboratory is almost fully automated and provides accurate tissue diagnoses with optimal turnaround times. Synoptic reporting formats based on CAP guidelines are followed to ensure standardization and clinical usefulness for treating physicians. The department also organizes a weekly tumor board to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care.
The Clinical Pathology Laboratory offers a comprehensive range of services and operates 24/7. It is equipped with advanced instruments, including 7-part hematology analyzers, a fully automated coagulometer, urine analyzers, and ESR machines, ensuring precise and timely results.
The Cytopathology Laboratory provides advanced diagnostic services, including fine-needle aspiration cytology, cell block studies, body fluid cytology, and automated Pap smear preparation and reporting, supporting both routine and specialized diagnostic needs.
All laboratories participate in internal and external quality assessment programs to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and reliability in reporting.
The Transfusion Medicine Department is a state-of-the-art facility capable of performing advanced screening procedures to ensure completely safe transfusion practices.
