Patients presenting with acute medical conditions such as severe infections, respiratory failure, cardiac emergencies, metabolic crises, and neurological disorders receive immediate evaluation and stabilization. The department works closely with intensive care units to ensure seamless transition of care from emergency stabilization to specialized medical management.

Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures

The department performs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.

Common procedures include lumbar puncture and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis for neurological conditions, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy for hematological disorders, ascitic and pleural fluid tapping for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, and intercostal drainage (ICD) tube insertion for pleural effusion and pneumothorax.

Other essential bedside procedures include intravenous cannulation, central venous catheter insertion, arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling, and endotracheal intubation. These procedures are performed by trained clinicians following standard safety protocols.
