- 1. OPD (Outpatient Department), that is a crucial part of the department equipped with modern diagnostic tools and a team of experienced healthcare professionals. It offers consultation, routine check-ups, and follow-up services for patients.
- 2. Medical ICU (Intensive Care Unit), staffed by highly trained doctors, nurses, and support staff, ensuring continuous monitoring and management of patients with life-threatening conditions. It is equipped with state-of-the-art ventilators, monitoring devices, and life-saving equipment.
- 3. Cardiac ICU, staffed by cardiologists and intensivists, and equipped with advanced cardiovascular monitoring systems, defibrillators, and other specialized medical equipment. This unit provides intensive care for patients with life threatening cardiac conditions and post-cardiac surgery recovery.
- 4. Dialysis ICU that is equipped with the latest dialysis machines, monitoring systems, and support staff trained in renal care. The Dialysis ICU provides 24/7 dialysis services to patients, ensuring the management of renal disorders with expertise and precision.
- 5. Dialysis Unit, an extension of the Dialysis ICU that offers regular dialysis treatments for patients with chronic kidney conditions. It has advanced dialysis machines and is staffed by specialized nephrologists and nurses, providing both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis options for patients in need of renal replacement therapy.
- 6. Department Library with a comprehensive collection of textbooks, journals, and research materials related to internal medicine, providing a quiet, resource-rich environment for students, residents, and faculty to engage in academic pursuits, research, and continuous learning.
- 7. Seminar Halls that are designed for academic discussions, presentations, and continuing medical education. 2. PROCEDURE
The department performs a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to support patient care. Key procedures include lumbar puncture and CSF studies for neurological conditions, bone marrow aspirate and biopsy for hematological disorders, and ascitic and pleural fluid tapping for diagnosing conditions like cirrhosis and pleural effusions. The department also conducts intercostal drainage (ICD tube insertion) for pleural effusion and pneumothorax, along with other basic procedures such as intravenous cannulation, central venous catheter insertion, ABG sampling, and endotracheal intubation. These procedures are performed by skilled healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
