The department performs a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to support patient care. Key procedures include lumbar puncture and CSF studies for neurological conditions, bone marrow aspirate and biopsy for hematological disorders, and ascitic and pleural fluid tapping for diagnosing conditions like cirrhosis and pleural effusions. The department also conducts intercostal drainage (ICD tube insertion) for pleural effusion and pneumothorax, along with other basic procedures such as intravenous cannulation, central venous catheter insertion, ABG sampling, and endotracheal intubation. These procedures are performed by skilled healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.

MD in General Medicine

The MD in General Medicine, offered by the Department of Internal Medicine, is a three-year postgraduate course that aims to train doctors through a combination of rigorous academics, practical exposure, and research-oriented learning.
