Our Logo

The triangle represents Knowledge, Skill, and Ethics — the core values of medical practice. The circle unites these elements, symbolizing wholeness, harmony, and continuity. At the center, Goddess Mookambika blesses our pursuit of healing, wisdom, and compassionate service. The Rod of Asclepius symbolizes healing, medical wisdom, and the sacred duty of caring for the sick.

Our Motto

Vidyayā Amṛtam Aśnute (विद्या अमृतम् अश्नुते) Isha Upanishad — Verse 11 “Through knowledge, one attains immortality” At Sree Mookambika Institutions, this timeless Sanskrit verse as motto reflects our deepest belief — that true education is not just about information, but transformation. Knowledge, when rooted in values and compassion, becomes a force that outlives time, heals beyond the present, and uplifts generations. Here, every lesson taught and every life touched carries the spirit of this ancient wisdom — guiding us toward a legacy that is enduring, ethical, and ever-evolving. Thousands of nurses, doctors, dentists, and students have passed through our doors, carrying forward the light of compassionate competence — trained to listen as much as they learn.

Pioneering FIRSTS That Define Us

At Sree Mookambika Institutions, excellence isn’t just a goal — it’s a legacy built on many “firsts” that have shaped healthcare in the region. Empanelled Under TNCMCHIS

As a recognized center under the Tamil Nadu Comprehensive Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (TNCMCHIS), we proudly serve a large section of the community — with nearly 80% of our patients receiving care through this scheme. Our services under these government schemes span a wide range of specialties — including Orthopaedics, Nephrology, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS), Oncology, PET-CT Scan Services, General Surgery, and Urology — ensuring that patients receive advanced, multi-specialty care without the burden of financial hardship.

Empanelled with Government and Private Health Insurance Schemes

Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences is empanelled with several government health schemes, private insurance companies, and TPAs, enabling patients to receive quality healthcare with financial support and cashless facilities.

The hospital provides services under important government schemes such as PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat), ECHS, ESI, ISRO (Mahendragiri), TNNHIS – Government Employees & Pensioners, MEDISEP (Kerala Government Employees & Pensioners), and Indian Railways (Trivandrum Zone).

In addition, SMIMS is also empanelled with leading private health insurance providers and TPAs including Star Health, Liberty, Niva Bupa, Care Health Insurance, Galaxy Health Insurance, IFFCO Tokio, Good Health Plan TPA, Link-K TPA, Ericson TPA, and AKNA TPA.

Through these empanelments, patients can benefit from cashless treatment and easier access to affordable healthcare services at SMIMS.

Healthcare Support for KSRTC Employees

Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), proudly launches the KSRTC Medical Centre & Dialysis Unit.

Through this initiative, KSRTC employees and their families will receive free medical consultation, along with 50%–70% concessions on investigations and treatments at Sree Mookambika Hospital.

This collaboration aims to ensure accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for the KSRTC community, recognizing their dedicated service to the public.

Reaching the Underserved

Free Medical Camps & Surgeries
Closing healthcare gaps with compassion. Regularly conducted across rural and underserved regions, these camps provide preventive care, diagnostics, and life-changing surgeries at no cost — embodying our belief that healing must reach every home.

Flood Relief & Disaster Response

Since 1990, our teams have mobilized swiftly during natural disasters, providing emergency medical care, food, shelter, and essential support to affected communities. Our doctors, nurses, and students work tirelessly to reach even the most remote areas — a testament to our enduring spirit of service.

Community Health & Awareness

Blood Donation Camps
SMIMS regularly conducts Blood Donation Camps as part of its commitment to community health and social responsibility. These camps encourage voluntary blood donation among students, staff, and the public, helping ensure a safe and adequate blood supply for patients in need.

Emergency Ready – Every Hand Can Help

Our Emergency Medicine Department (EMD) leads community awareness initiatives, conducting Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid training for the public. Through interactive flash mobs and demonstrations, lifesaving techniques are simplified and shared — preparing every hand to help when it matters most.

Empowering Families & Enabling Health

Our mission goes beyond treatment. We believe in educating patients, families, and the community on the role of nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep in long-term health. Through awareness sessions, we empower families to make informed lifestyle choices, because lasting wellness begins at home.

Compassionate Patient Support

Entrum Ungaludan – “Always With You”
At SMIMS, Entrum Ungaludan is more than a phrase — it is a promise. It reflects our unwavering commitment to stand beside every patient, especially when financial barriers threaten care. Whether through subsidized treatment, support under TNCMCHIS, or simply being present in moments of uncertainty, we walk with our patients with empathy, not invoices.

Free Transport Services

For those who travel from distant places, we provide a free bus service between Kulasekharam and Nagercoil. For a few patients in need, we even offer free transport to their homes — because we believe no one should be alone on their road to recovery.

Nutritious Meals with Compassion

Every day, we serve free wholesome meals three times a day to all patients and their bystanders — because healing the body also means caring for the soul. With compassion at the heart of our service, we ensure no one faces illness on an empty stomach.

Women’s Health & Empowerment

Empowering Women, Advancing Public Health

At Sree Mookambika Institute, safe motherhood is a right, not a privilege.

In 1991, our commitment to public health took on a broader dimension through active participation in the Family Planning Association of India (FPAI), during which our Director served as the District Chairperson.

During this period, we trained and employed numerous women from the local community, fostering both empowerment and economic independence. We also actively supported government initiatives on population control and maternal health.

This initiative not only improved public health outcomes but also marked a significant stride in women-led community development — a value we continue to uphold across all our institutions.

Bringing Life with Dignity

Free Deliveries & Government Support for Mothers

We are proud to be the only private hospital in Kanyakumari District approved under the Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Financial Assistance Program. Through this initiative, eligible pregnant women receive 18,000 in government support along with free delivery services at our institute — ensuring both dignity and safety for every mother.

In addition, we are an authorized center for the Free Immunization Program, helping protect every newborn’s first steps into a healthier life.

With compassion, clinical excellence, and public partnership, we continue to walk beside every mother on her journey to motherhood.

URV–SHE

Urinary Recto Vaginal (Health) and She

URV–SHE is a SMIMS initiative dedicated to women’s urinary, rectal, and vaginal health, addressing conditions that are often hidden due to stigma.
